LGA Assessment tool
Â
Assessment tool to analyse the capacities and needs of LGA's. The tool was developed at the beginning of the ARIAL project.
The tool consists of 6 parts:
Â
1. The Assessment Tool: contains 10 excellence factors and 37 indicators on which the LGA's are assessed. The tool serves as reference document throughout the whole assessment.
Â
2. An Evidence and Analysis sheet: used by the assessor during each interview to make notes on findings. For each interview, the assessor gives an indicative score and recommendations for each of the 10 excellence factors.
Â
3. Assessment Outcome Template: After all interviews have been conducted, the assessors get together to discuss their findings - based on the evidence and analysis sheets - and give a final score for each of the 37 indicators.
Â
4., 5., 6. Draft letter to start the process, Title page, and User Satisfaction Survery: help the assessor throughout the process.

The ARIAL Local Government Association Publications and Tools system includes tools, like example survey questions, exercises, workshop schedules, good practices and ideas with which local government associations can become better at identifying the development needs of local governments and can respond to those needs. These tools help LGAs to identify development funding opportunities, to survey local governments on their needs, to better applicate for project funding, to draft communication and lobby strategies, and more. Explore the publications and tools yourself. |
